Ampersand Art Cradled Hardbord

Hardbord is the perfect substrate for those who prefer to create their own grounds and unique textures. Hardbord is a 1/8" thick tempered wood panel that provides more strength and permanence than an untempered or conventional hardboard. This Hardbord accepts grounds for oils, acrylics, egg tempera, encaustic and gold leaf, with no preparation required. The cradle is glued flush with the back edge of the panel, providing extra support while giving the panel both depth and dimension once your work is hanging on the wall. Leave the cradle unfinished for a rustic feel or treat it easily with wood stain, gesso or paint.
